Pesto peas is a speedy side that offers a new twist on standard peas. Create this tasty little side dish using frozen Birds Eye garden peas.

Ingredients

  • 600 g Birds Eye Peas
    Deliciously Tender Garden Peas
  • 10 g pine nut kernels
  • 1 pack of basil or ½ a small basil plant (leaves only)
  • ½ clove garlic (chopped)
  • 40 g Parmesan cheese (grated)
  • 50 ml virgin olive oil
  • salt

Preparation

  1. Heat a dry non-stick pan over a medium heat and toast the pine nuts lightly for 2–3 minutes. Set aside to cool
  2. Drop all the ingredients except the peas into a food processor and blitz to a soft green sauce
  3. To serve, cook the peas according to the packet instructions. Mix with the pesto and enjoy
