Our fields

North Lincolnshire

  • Welcome to our farm in Hibaldstow North Lincolnshire. Here at Slate House farm, we have been growing Birds Eye peas since the 1970’s, so we bring over 30 years of experience!

We are a true family business – I farm in partnership with my parents and live together with my wife and three children Jessica, Alfie and Charlie as well as our dog Lola on our farm. My children love being in the countryside, especially in the pea fields around harvest time!

  • Everyday life at our farm

We’ve got 1500 acres on our farm and we have four members of full time staff who help us out. Aside from growing Birds Eye peas, we grow barley (for beer), wheat (for biscuits) and we rear free-range ducks. We also have a limestone quarry that supplies stone for the restoration of historic buildings.

  • What we do

We aim to farm in a way that will provide a financial and environmentally sustainable business for future generations. We’ve worked hard creating hedges and new woodland on the farm so that we can work together with nature.

We’re very proud that all 19 farmland indicator birds have been found on our farm, as surveyed by BTO and we have also put up owl boxes, which are regularly used by owlets.

I love peas...
