Our fields

East Yorkshire

  • Welcome to my farm in Beverley East Yorkshire! I took over the farm from my father when he retired 5 years ago and I am proud to say that we have been growing peas for over 30 years - we were one of the original growers in the Walkington Trading company !

  • Everyday life at our farm

Our farm is 1500 acres, of which 1250 acres are family owned. We employ 3 full time men on the farm, including Ron who has worked for the farm all his life (30 years plus) and his dad, Ron Senior, who also worked for us all his life but is now is retired. As well as growing the smallest and sweetest peas for Birds Eye, we also grow wheat, barley and beans. A tenth of our farm is devoted to environmental stewardship.

  • What we do

We are enthusiastic about integrated farm management and the sustainability of farming, which is why we do a lot of precision farming. This is where we use special mapping methods to show us exactly which areas need nutrients. The result is we reduce waste, cut down the amount of fuel we use and only add nutrients where they’re needed.

I strongly believe that we can farm productively and at the same time care for the environment.

I love peas...
